Continued from yesterday, Professor Kris Hartley from the Education University of Hong Kong made a speech on smart cities which is hotly discussed topic in the field of public administration in these days. He first demonstrated the very background on growing investment in smart cities then defined smart cities for both scholarly and analytical purposes. Professor Hartley pointed out the critical turn in smart cities studies so as to theorize smart cities critically with Foucault and Lefebvre. Lastly, he gave an detailed example of smart city that is "India 100 smart cities" and argued academia should go broader thinking about technological disruption and dystopia.
