The Impact of Aid Dependence on Government Competitiveness and Economic Growth
There are two opposing arguments regarding aid for development. One is “aid-dependency theory” and the other is “the cure for poverty.” The following process based on Easton’s “systems theory” is reviewed:
Net ODA % of Government Expenditure [Input] - Government Competitiveness Index [Throughput] + Corruption
Economic Growth [Output]
Allocation [Feedback]
From this process, corruption is identified as the principal challenge.
